When Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf Coast, the damage it inflicted didn't just impact humans, thousands of animals were killed or left homeless.
Now, the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs is helping to find new homes for multiple dogs displaced by the storm.
Many of the dogs have already been adopted, but some are still available.
According to WPBN:
"The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs recently took in 19 dogs and puppies impacted by hurricane Harvey. In less than a week, more than half of the dogs are already in homes.
The dogs who made the trip to northern Michigan were displaced by floodwaters and evacuated from local shelters to make room for other animals in need of shelter space in Houston, Texas.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation is helping to make sure the animals find new homes quickly by sponsoring adoption fees for all hurricane Harvey affected animals through September 30.
The dogs still available for adoption include: Amazon, Ellen, Humphrey, King, Nubbie, Maggie Sue, Queen and Trixie. To view a full list of adoptable pets available to LTBHS click here."
